Oakland man allegedly drove with beer cans thrown around car

When someone is pulled over for driving while intoxicated, in many cases they will be arrested for more than just a DUI charge. Whether he or she is charged multiple offenses or feels that he or she was unfairly charged by law enforcement, everyone is entitled to fair treatment in court. A person facing multiple penalties related to drunk driving will likely want a drunk driving defense attorney to be sure they receive fair and strong representation.

When a man from Oakland was pulled over while driving on Route 23 north, he received more than a drunk driving charge after the officer smelled alcohol on his breath and noticed several cans of beer scattered around his vehicle. He then allegedly admitted to drinking before he failed several field sobriety tests.

Along with being arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, the man was charged with consuming alcohol in a motor vehicle and reckless driving. He is also facing consequences for failure to produce documents and not having liability insurance.

When someone is arrested for driving under the influence, often it's the result of a poor decision that he or she may not repeat if given a second chance. People who have made a mistake and want another chance have the right to be represented in court by a lawyer who has their best interests in mind. Defendants who wish to protect their future may benefit by consulting with a drunk driving defense attorney.
