San Francisco man suffers head injuries at party

Committing a violent crime can result in long-term consequences, especially if someone is hurt. It's especially unfortunate when a minor is involved in the wrongdoing. Due to their inexperience and tendency to be swayed by their peers, they may make choices that they'll later regret. If someone is seriously hurt or killed as a result of juvenile crimes, the penalties can last a lifetime.

A 19-year-old man was recently attacked and hurt while allegedly partying at Stern Grove. San Francisco police said that a call about a fight in Stern Grove was made late that night, and authorities responded to find that the man had received life-threatening head wounds. There was no information on who attacked him. According to the victim, he and his friend had joined a party at the park and were attacked by at least four other people, one of whom apparently head-butted him.

The victim was hospitalized for his injuries, and police have been unable to find his attackers. Stern Grove is known as a location where many underage people hang out, some of whom are there to drink and engage in violence. It's unknown whether the man's attackers were minors, but it is certainly a possibility.

If a juvenile is caught committing a crime which results in the type of injuries this young man is suffering from, the consequences can be severe. Because this is an age where many kids can turn their lives around, the juvenile law system is set up so most have a chance for education and counseling to keep them from ending up in prison as adults.
